Associate Design Engineer (Bicycle Components)

Location: Onsite in San Luis Obispo, California, United States. Non-local candidates are expected to relocate to the United States. Domestic and international travel is required multiple times per year for one to two weeks at a time.

Salary: $71,000–$80,000 per year, depending on experience. An annual corporate bonus may also be available.

What you will do

• Design and develop high-quality front drivetrain components for bicycles.
• Apply engineering best practices and document design specifications.
• Collaborate with engineers and team members to resolve design and development issues.
• Facilitate problem resolution with factories and suppliers.
• Mitigate product risks through proactive design analysis.
• Provide input on manufacturing processes and equipment.

Requirements

• B.S. degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes including forging, CNC machining, injection molding, and stamping.
• CAD experience is required; Creo Parametric is preferred.
• Familiarity with statistics, GD&T, FEA, FMEA, and tolerance analysis.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work onsite in San Luis Obispo and relocate if non-local.

Nice to have

• Understanding of electromechanical and mechatronics principles.
• More than three years of design engineering experience may qualify candidates for the Design Engineer level, with salaries starting at $80,000 and reaching up to $120,000.
