Design Engineer (Cycling)

Location: Onsite in San Luis Obispo, California, United States; non-local candidates are expected to relocate. Occasional domestic and international travel is required.

Salary: $80,000–$120,000 per year, commensurate with experience and skills.

What you will do

• Design and model cranksets and drivetrain components using different materials and manufacturing processes.
• Create CAD models, drawings, technical documentation, and project plans.
• Collaborate with local and global engineering teams, test laboratories, factories, and overseas suppliers.
• Resolve design and manufacturing issues and mitigate risks through proactive analysis.
• Prototype, test, evaluate, and refine component designs.
• Support the development of manufacturing processes and equipment.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline.
• At least 3 years of mechanical design experience.
• Extensive CAD experience; Creo Parametric and surface modeling experience are desired.
• Experience with statistics, GD&T, FEA, FMEA, and tolerance analysis.
• Experience designing for forging, CNC machining and turning, and stamping processes.
• Ability to work onsite in San Luis Obispo, California; non-local candidates are expected to relocate.

Nice to have

• Composite design experience.
• Product Lifecycle Management experience, such as Windchill.
