Associate Development (Renewable Energy)

Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada (hybrid); projects are developed in Ontario. Ability to travel 25% is required.

Salary: CAD$90,100–$95,000 annually, plus an annual bonus.

hirify.global is an independent renewable energy producer developing, owning, and operating hydroelectric, wind, solar, and energy storage facilities in Canada, the United States, France, and Chile.

What you will do

• Support the identification and evaluation of greenfield, acquisition, and partnership opportunities for utility-scale solar, wind, and hydro projects.
• Build and maintain relationships with Indigenous partners, municipalities, landowners, community stakeholders, consultants, and internal specialists.
• Coordinate land acquisition, environmental studies, permitting, interconnection, engineering, and financial assessments.
• Support RFP submissions, bid processes, project documentation, schedules, budgets, risk assessments, and management recommendations.
• Prepare presentations, reports, briefing materials, and approval documentation for senior management.
• Support project handover to Construction and coordinate with Finance and Legal.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience developing utility-scale wind, hydro, and/or solar projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a focus on Renewable Power.
• Experience with PVSyst, ArcGIS Pro, Python for data analysis, and Visual Studio Code.
• Exposure to Ontario’s energy market and regulatory processes, including permitting and technical studies.
• Experience working with Indigenous partners or community stakeholders and coordinating consultants.
• Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills. English is the language of operation in the Vancouver office.

Nice to have

• Ability to communicate in French.
• Familiarity with land leases, partnership LOIs, capacity funding agreements, PPAs, interconnection agreements, turbine supply agreements, BOP/EPC contracts, and O&M agreements.
