Manager Cost Accounting

hirify.global operates a healthcare network requiring cost analytics for clinical, financial, and operational decision-making.

What you will do

• Lead the day-to-day operations of the cost accounting department, including staffing, performance management, policies, programs, and budgeting responsibilities.
• Establish consistent cost definitions, allocation methodologies, cost center hierarchies, and patient care cost assignments across network entities.
• Direct cost analysts in maintaining cost allocation rules and producing accurate patient care cost information.
• Use SAS, Excel, Tableau, Alteryx, and related decision-support tools to create reports, analyses, and interactive visualizations.
• Develop analytics supporting clinical delivery decisions, institute-level reporting, payor reimbursement discussions, operating strategies, and capital investment planning.
• Collaborate with hospital leaders and clinical teams, provide training on cost data, and maintain data credibility through audits and reconciliation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent relevant experience and education.
• At least 3 years of leadership or management experience.
• At least 3 years of database development and cost accounting experience.
• Advanced Excel skills and a strong understanding of relational databases, applications, and transactional systems.
• Ability to analyze complex scenarios, draw valid conclusions, and communicate recommendations to senior leadership and diverse audiences.
• Ability to work remotely from Pennsylvania, United States.

Nice to have

• At least 3 years of experience with healthcare systems.
• CPA, CMA, or Certified Healthcare Financial Professional certification.
• Knowledge of SQL, macros, Visual Basic, EPSi, StrataJazz, or other healthcare-specific cost accounting systems.
