What you will do
- Own the end-to-end functional test strategy for aircraft systems from early builds through certified production.
- Architect and scale automated manufacturing test solutions to improve quality, repeatability, and throughput.
- Drive cross-functional alignment between manufacturing, design engineering, flight test, and certification to define requirements.
- Lead execution of functional testing in lab environments and directly on aircraft.
- Define integration of functional tests with manufacturing engineering systems and data infrastructure.
- Identify and proactively resolve gaps, risks, and inefficiencies in test coverage at the system level.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in aircraft systems or subsystem test engineering, including ownership of test scope.
- Experience testing aircraft systems under 14 CFR Part 23/25/27/29 or equivalent regulatory frameworks.
- Strong background in electrical and software-driven testing.
- Scripting fluency in Python for automation, analysis, and test enablement.
- Must be authorized to work in the US (no visa sponsorship available).
Nice to have
- Experience contributing to full aircraft type certification from program start through approval.
- Experience integrating tests with enterprise systems such as SAP or Capital wiring harness software.
- Working knowledge of communication standards like CANbus, RS-485/422, and ARINC-429.
- Familiarity with Garmin avionics systems.
- Specific experience with eVTOL or advanced air mobility.
