TL;DR
Principal Engineer (AI/LLM): Building secure, reliable, and maintainable full-stack production applications across TypeScript, Node.js, Vue, Nuxt, and Azure with an accent on architecture, cloud platforms, and production LLM integrations. Focus on designing scalable systems, implementing tool use and multi-model orchestration, managing streaming and latency, and providing technical leadership across engineering teams.
Location: LATAM; remote
What you will do
- Design, architect, and implement full-stack features and production-grade applications.
- Define engineering standards and promote secure, scalable, reliable, observable, and maintainable system design.
- Build and integrate LLM-powered applications with tool use, function calling, streaming, latency management, and external systems.
- Evaluate and adopt tools and methodologies, improve engineering processes, and support quality assurance and test coverage.
- Collaborate with business operations, product stakeholders, clients, and delivery teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Mentor engineers, lead training sessions and code reviews, and align technical standards across teams.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including production-grade application development and senior technical responsibilities.
- Deep proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js, including strict typing, Clean Architecture, dependency injection, and modern software design principles.
- Strong full-stack development experience with modern frontend frameworks; Vue.js and Nuxt experience is strongly preferred.
- Hands-on Azure experience across application hosting, serverless or containerized workloads, identity and access management, data services, monitoring, and DevOps.
- Production experience building LLM-powered applications and integrating Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, or comparable APIs beyond prompt experimentation.
- Experience making architectural decisions and providing technical leadership across engineering teams.
Nice to have
- Experience with Azure AI Foundry and multi-model AI architectures.
- Experience with MCP or similar LLM tool-use and orchestration frameworks.
- Experience with Azure Container Apps, Azure Functions, Azure Web PubSub, PostgreSQL, Blob Storage, Entra ID, Key Vault, Azure Monitor, GitHub Enterprise, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Adobe Illustrator, SVG, EPS, AI, and PLT formats, including vector and image processing workflows.
