Inventory Specialist

Location: Houston, Texas, United States; onsite work across warehouse, laboratory, and production areas

What you will do

• Manage receiving, staging, issuing, transporting, and reconciling materials for laboratory and production operations.
• Organize daily warehouse activities and maintain clean, orderly storage areas in compliance with OSHA, FDA, and cGMP standards.
• Perform cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, conduct root cause analysis, and report inventory findings.
• Monitor stock levels, inventory plans, shortages, overages, slow-moving materials, obsolete items, waste, and damage.
• Coordinate incoming freight and returns with suppliers and investigate supplier-related discrepancies.
• Collaborate with procurement, supply chain, and production teams to ensure material availability and compliance with the Quality Management System.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field is preferred, and a bachelor’s degree is also preferred.
• At least 3 years of inventory control or warehouse operations experience, preferably in a regulated environment.
• Knowledge of cGMP, USP, ISO 17025, and FDA regulations.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office; experience with cycle counting and root cause analysis required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand or sit for extended periods.
• Ability to work onsite in Houston and move frequently through warehouse, laboratory, and production areas.

Nice to have

• Experience handling hazardous materials and relevant certification, or willingness to obtain certification through training.
• Professional certification in supply chain management.
