Head of Platform Engineering (AI)

What you will do

• Own the internal developer platform, including service templates, CI/CD pipelines, deployment tooling, feature flags, progressive delivery, and automated rollback.
• Lead SRE and production excellence across payment platforms, covering observability, incident management, production readiness, on-call health, and error budgets.
• Develop and evolve dCoder, the proprietary AI code-generation platform, and integrate third-party AI assistants with appropriate engineering guardrails.
• Define and enforce standards for code review, testing, deployment, architecture, and AI-assisted development.
• Drive adoption across hundreds of engineers through enablement, communications, champions, migration plans, and deprecation discipline.
• Measure outcomes using DORA metrics, SLO attainment, rollback success, paved-road adoption, and AI-assisted pull-request defect density.

Requirements

• Experience leading platform engineering, SRE, or a combined function at the scale of hundreds of engineers.
• Experience with high-consequence production systems; fintech, payments, or regulated environments is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of DORA metrics and the impact of AI-assisted development on change failure rate, code turnover, and software quality.
• Hands-on familiarity with AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and Claude Code.
• Experience leading organizational change, such as platform migrations, reliability initiatives, trunk-based development, or AI adoption programs.
• Fluent English is required.

Nice to have

• Experience building an in-house AI coding platform, including prompt engineering, context systems, agentic patterns, or evaluation frameworks.
• Experience improving change failure rate while increasing deployment frequency.
• Experience with regulated financial services and production payment systems.
• Public contributions or a documented point of view on platform engineering, reliability, or responsible AI-assisted software delivery.
