Facilities Maintenance Technician - 3rd Shift - Memphis (HVAC): Maintaining and repairing HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, and related facilities systems in technically advanced data centers with an accent on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment reliability. Focus on repairing air-handling and cooling equipment, modifying ductwork and piping, interpreting schematics, operating industrial equipment, and preventing unplanned service interruptions.

Location: Southaven, Mississippi, or Memphis, Tennessee, United States; onsite, 3rd shift

What you will do

  • Maintain HVAC support equipment, including air handlers, chilled water systems, condenser pumps, cooling towers, valves, filters, and related components.
  • Perform ductwork, refrigerant, water piping, insulation, plumbing, heating, drainage, brazing, soldering, and mechanical repair work.
  • Disassemble, inspect, clean, troubleshoot, reassemble, and test pumps and other mechanical equipment.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance, failure assessments, safety inspections, and equipment status reporting.
  • Read schematics and blueprints, fabricate mechanical parts, and ensure work complies with manufacturer specifications and applicable building codes.
  • Operate forklifts, lifts, pallet jacks, work trucks, and overhead cranes; manage electronic work tickets and coordinate with engineers, managers, and internal customers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent certificate.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience with HVAC, plumbing, pneumatic, mechanical, or electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical safety, pneumatic principles, tubing, pipefittings, rotating machinery, and mechanical fasteners.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems to the component level and interpret technical specifications, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams for service reporting and communication.
  • Ability to follow applicable company, local, state, and federal building codes, regulations, and laws.

Nice to have

  • Technical certification, journeyman, or master qualification in HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, or electrical systems.
  • Experience with high-pressure gas, flammable gas, refrigeration gases, HEPA filters, and air-handling unit filtration systems.
  • Familiarity with commercial building codes and web-based service literature and programs.
  • Consistent punctuality, flexibility, self-direction, and the ability to balance several projects in a high-stress environment.
