Test Technician I (Spacecraft)

Location: Onsite at the manufacturing and test facility in Briggs, Texas. The role requires flexible hours to support spacecraft engine testing.

What you will do

• Support integration, instrumentation, setup, checkout, and execution of hotfire tests for the Spectre propulsion engine and related liquid propulsion systems.
• Operate propellant transfer, pressurization, ground support, and safety systems.
• Assist with propellant loading, engine conditioning, ignition sequences, and safing operations.
• Clean, passivate, deburr, polish, and prepare aerospace hardware and fittings.
• Maintain and calibrate pumps, tanks, filtration systems, scales, and other test equipment.
• Maintain accurate equipment records and support safety reviews, readiness activities, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 0–2 years of experience in aerospace, aircraft, R&D, or a related industrial field.
• Working knowledge of fluid systems, pressurized testing, leak checks, and pressurized-system safety.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical manuals.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, teamwork, attention to detail, and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. for limited durations.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. government authorizations for ITAR-controlled technology.

Nice to have

• Associate degree or technical certification in aerospace, mechanical, manufacturing, or a related field.
• Experience with aerospace engine hardware, hazardous materials, or OSHA HAZWOPER.
• Knowledge of GN2, GHe, hydraulic, hypergolic propulsion, and decontamination procedures.
• Experience with aerospace-standard cleaning, instrumentation, precision measurement, and equipment calibration.
