PCB Layout Designer III/Sr. (Aerospace)

Location: Greater Seattle Area, United States. U.S. citizenship, U.S. national status, permanent residency, refugee status, or asylee status is required.

Base pay range for Washington applicants: $124,476–$174,265.35 annually. California and Colorado ranges may differ.

What you will do

• Design and lay out high-performance, high-reliability PCBs for aerospace avionics applications.
• Create schematics and PCB layouts using tools such as Altium Designer, Allegro, Eagle PCB, and Proteus.
• Develop complex digital, analog, mixed-signal, high-speed, RF, and high-power layouts, including multilayer boards, impedance-controlled stack-ups, and fine-pitch BGA routing.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software engineers throughout product development and production.
• Support PCB and PCBA design reviews with DFM, DFA, DFT, signal-integrity, manufacturing, and testing expertise.
• Maintain eCAD libraries, troubleshoot layout issues, improve PCB development processes, and review and mentor the work of other layout resources.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of PCB layout and design experience, specifically in the aerospace and defense industry.
• Strong knowledge of digital, analog, mixed-signal, and high-speed layout; complex signal routing; multi-rail power delivery; and signal-integrity constraints.
• Experience with design constraint management, trace-length matching, spacing rules, blind and buried vias, and symbol and footprint libraries.
• Knowledge of PCB design, manufacturing, and testing practices, including IPC-6012 Class 3 and IPC Class 3 assembly standards.
• Ability to create electrical design specifications, communicate clearly, take ownership of detailed work, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice to have

• CID, CIS, or CSE certification.
• Familiarity with stripline and microstrip design.
