Principal UI Engineer, Platform (Cortex)

Location: Santa Clara, California, United States of America; most teams work from the office full time.

Salary: $156,400–$253,000 per year base salary.

What you will do

• Execute the frontend technical strategy for Cortex Platform products and build modular, performant micro-frontend structures.
• Develop complex UI components, dashboards, and data visualizations for high-volume, multi-source security data.
• Evolve enterprise design systems and component libraries with UX teams, ensuring consistency and WCAG accessibility.
• Optimize bundle sizes, rendering paths, state management, and asset loading for fast client-side performance.
• Translate complex security workflows into intuitive interfaces with backend, AI/ML, UX, and product teams.
• Establish frontend quality standards, automated E2E and unit testing pipelines, and mentor UI engineers.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 6+ years building complex, web-scale frontend applications.
• Mastery of JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Angular, HTML5, Tailwind, CSS3, and Sass.
• Deep knowledge of state management and modern frontend architecture, including RxJS, Redux Toolkit, Zustand, React Query, Micro-Frontends, and Webpack Module Federation.
• Hands-on experience with complex data visualizations, rich dashboards, modern build tools, CI/CD, and testing frameworks.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Immigration sponsorship is available.

Nice to have

• Experience with cybersecurity, SIEM, or SOC operations platforms.
• Experience maintaining enterprise design systems and UI component libraries such as Storybook.
• Knowledge of WebSockets, Server-Sent Events, and real-time frontend streaming architectures.
• Exposure to AI/LLM integrations, streaming chat responses, or autonomous agent workflows.
