Low Latency Java Developer (eTrading)

Location: New York City, hybrid with at least 4 days onsite per week

Salary: US$120,000–US$150,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, and support low-latency, event-driven electronic trading systems.
• Translate requirements from traders, quantitative specialists, risk, compliance, and IT stakeholders into scalable solutions.
• Contribute to technical architecture, system design, delivery estimates, and the full software lifecycle through production support.
• Maintain code quality through CI/CD, static and dynamic analysis, and security scanning.
• Mentor developers and provide technical guidance across global teams.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of experience developing trading systems.
• At least 5 years of hands-on enterprise Java development with Java 11–17.
• Strong experience with asynchronous, event-driven programming, concurrency, and low-latency, high-throughput applications.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Ability to combine technical and business expertise and collaborate with global teams.
• Eligible candidates may receive sponsorship for TN or E-2 U.S. work visas; H-1B and other visa transfers are not supported.

Nice to have

• Spring, Spring Boot, or Spring Boot Actuator.
• Apache Camel 3 and JMS, including ActiveMQ or similar systems.
• REST APIs with enterprise authentication and authorization.
• MS SQL Server or Sybase.
• Electronic trading workflows and market integrations such as RFQ, ION, Tradeweb, or Bloomberg.
