Senior Java Application Developer

Location: Ashburn, Virginia, United States; hybrid with 1–2 days per week onsite

Salary: $120,000–$165,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain primarily Java-based applications.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, update Jira tasks, and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with developers, stakeholders, and intersecting teams to deliver mission-critical solutions.
• Troubleshoot production and non-production systems.
• Learn and apply new technical skills to meet project and customer needs.

Requirements

• US citizenship is required, along with the ability to obtain a CBP Public Trust Final government security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of experience supporting Java applications and frameworks such as Spring and Spring Boot.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment with Jira or a similar tool.
• Experience developing against relational databases such as Oracle or PostgreSQL.
• Experience writing automated unit tests with tools such as JUnit.
• Strong written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with CI/CD tools and automated development environments, including Git, Bamboo, Jenkins, or SonarQube.
• Experience deploying to AWS or another cloud environment.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Angular, Hibernate, MyBatis, JMS, Kafka, Python, or Linux.
