Staff Software Engineer (AI Governance)

Location: Atlanta, Georgia, United States. Office-first culture with three days per week in the office for most roles.

Annual base salary: $139,725–$209,588 USD for candidates in specified US states; bonuses, equity, commissions, and benefits may also apply.

What you will do

• Develop and support Java microservices and libraries for the AI Governance product.
• Build Azure applications using Core Java, REST, Spring, SQL, and cloud application architecture.
• Design reusable integration patterns, API contracts, authentication, error handling, and data translation across external systems.
• Expand the AI Governance registry and integrations, including entity resolution, workflow integrations, evidence generation, and administrator-facing AI experiences.
• Collaborate with UX, product, platform, security, legal, and customer-facing teams on architecture and delivery.
• Review code, improve reliability and test coverage, resolve defects, and mentor junior developers.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering and software development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java, object-oriented design, design patterns, Spring, SQL, web services, and REST APIs.
• Experience integrating external platforms, SaaS applications, workflow systems, and AI solutions.
• Knowledge of SAML or OIDC SSO, OAuth, service accounts, API keys, token scopes, roles and claims, RBAC, and secure credential management.
• Experience with distributed systems, asynchronous workflows, event-driven services or data-ingestion pipelines, SQL and NoSQL databases, CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, and incident response.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical or business field.

Nice to have

• Experience with connector frameworks, integration-platform-as-a-service products, workflow engines, or developer platforms.
• Experience with entity resolution, matching, deduplication, identity graphs, or common domain models for heterogeneous data.
• Experience with MCP servers, agent platforms, AI assistants, AI observability, OpenTelemetry, LangSmith, or model gateways.
• Experience with privacy, security, GRC, audit, risk, regulatory data, immutable evidence, or strong audit trails.
