Senior Mechanical Engineer (Aerospace)

Base pay: $144,000–$185,000 per year

What you will do

• Design and develop mechanical enclosures, mounts, and interfaces for high-voltage battery components.
• Size power conductors, optimize insulation strategies, and define interconnect architectures.
• Select high-voltage contactors and perform fuse coordination studies for safe power distribution.
• Develop high-voltage safety features, including creepage and clearance, shielding, and sealing.
• Perform tolerance stack-ups, FEA simulations, and DFMEA; release 2D drawings and 3D CAD models in NX.
• Support prototype builds, validation testing, manufacturing, and supply-chain integration through production.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of mechanical design experience.
• Experience with high-voltage systems and electric powertrains.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, thermal, and electrical design, CAD, tolerance stack-ups, and GD&T; NX experience is preferred.
• Experience taking products from concept through high-volume production and working with processes including laser welding, stamping, composites, adhesives, brazing, ultrasonic welding, and fastening.
• Familiarity with UN38.3, IEC, UL, and ISO standards for high-voltage batteries.

Nice to have

• Automotive or aerospace experience.
• Experience with hybrid powertrains.
