What you will do

• Design and develop mechanical enclosures, mounts, and interfaces for high-voltage battery components.
• Optimize insulation and interconnect strategies and size power conductors.
• Perform fuse coordination studies and select high-voltage contactors to ensure reliable power distribution.
• Implement HV safety practices, including shielding, sealing, and creepage/clearance considerations.
• Validate designs using detailed tolerance stack-ups, FEA simulations, and DFMEA.
• Develop 2D drawings and 3D CAD models using NX and manage prototype builds.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of mechanical design experience.
• Experience with HV systems and electric powertrains.
• Proficiency in CAD, tolerance stack, and GD&T (NX experience preferred).
• Proven track record of taking products from concept to high-volume production using various manufacturing processes (e.g., laser welding, stamping).
• Familiarity with UN38.3, IEC, UL, and ISO standards for HV batteries.
