Engineer III - Virtual Infrastructure (VMware/Cisco UCS)

Location: Remote within Arizona; 8:00am–5:00pm day shift with participation in an off-hours support on-call rotation

What you will do

• Research, develop, test, analyze, and document Cisco UCS infrastructure technologies, including Intersight, UCS Manager, Fabric Interconnects, chassis, blades, rack servers, and firmware.
• Administer and support VMware environments, including vSphere ESXi, vCenter, vRealize Operations Manager, and RVTools, as well as virtual desktop resources and availability.
• Lead infrastructure projects from planning through completion, coordinate resources, manage incidents, and support major incident response.
• Provide technical guidance, mentoring, training, and work oversight for junior engineers.
• Develop knowledge-base content, process maps, problem-management frameworks, training materials, and team documentation.
• Participate in IT governance, project assignments, upgrades, patches, and on-call incident support.

Requirements

• Must reside in Arizona.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related discipline, or four years of related work experience.
• At least six years of experience with Cisco UCS infrastructure and VMware, including daily operations, planning, design, configuration, and implementation.
• Required VMware Data Center Virtualization certification.
• Advanced working knowledge of Windows Server and desktop operating systems.
• Experience with networking, server management across Windows and UNIX, and storage management is preferred.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• Cisco Unified Computing System certification.
• Eight years of experience with networking, server management, and storage management.
