Engineer II - Virtualization (Remote)

Location: USA - Remote; US Citizenship or Green Card holder status required

Salary: $100,000–$145,000 per year, plus eligibility for bonuses and equity grants.

Cybersecurity company building an AI-native platform that protects organizations through large-scale distributed systems and advanced threat prevention.

What you will do

• Design and maintain complex technical systems architectures and recommend improvements.
• Manage large-scale production deployments of servers and applications in internal datacenters.
• Administer Linux systems across thousands of bare-metal servers and virtual machines.
• Develop scripts, automation tools, and operational workflows using Python, Go, and PowerShell, including applicable AI tools.
• Troubleshoot server hardware, hypervisor, and infrastructure issues.
• Participate in PagerDuty on-call rotations, incident response, troubleshooting, and post-mortems.

Requirements

• US Citizenship or Green Card holder status.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Experience with Linux, Windows, VMware, Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure technologies at scale.
• Hands-on production experience administering large-scale OpenStack environments and VMware vCenter/ESXi, including HA, DRS, and vMotion.
• Working knowledge of L2/L3 networking, VLANs, bonding/LACP, BGP, DHCP, and configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef, or Ansible.
• Experience writing technical documentation and using AI technologies to improve workflows, efficiency, and decision-making.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of vSphere Lifecycle Manager, OpenStack Ironic or Bifrost, and block storage solutions such as TrueNAS, Ceph/Rook-Ceph, or Dell PowerFlex.
• Knowledge of DNS, HTTP, SMTP, SNMP, the OSI model, and monitoring tools including Prometheus, Grafana, and Zabbix.
• Knowledge of CI/CD and configuration management tools such as GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, Chef, Ansible, or Salt.
