Staff Software Engineer - Mobile (AI)

Location: Sunnyvale, California, United States; onsite role

Annual salary: $143,000–$286,000, plus performance-based bonuses and potential stock compensation.

What you will do

• Build high-quality user experiences and Android solutions for the hirify.global Spark mobile app.
• Deliver scalable platform capabilities, infrastructure, developer tooling, and ML frameworks.
• Lead software development lifecycle activities across coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Conduct system design reviews and contribute to mobile architecture, API design, DevOps, and prototyping.
• Build AI-driven applications that integrate ML components for automation and multi-step reasoning.
• Mentor engineers, guide technical decisions, and drive data-informed engineering improvements.

Requirements

• Hands-on mobile development experience, preferably with Android, Kotlin, Jetpack, application architecture, performance optimization, and testing.
• Expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation.
• Strong knowledge of software design patterns, API design, prototyping, platform design, DevOps, and software security.
• Experience with CI/CD, observability, deployment, and software maintenance.
• Technical leadership, mentorship, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 4 years of software engineering experience, or 6 years of software engineering experience.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related area.
• Experience creating inclusive digital experiences and implementing WCAG 2.2 AA standards and assistive technologies.
