Staff UI Designer (Defense)

What you will do

• Lead UI design for corporate, product, campaign, editorial, and microsite experiences.
• Define visual and interaction standards across desktop, tablet, and mobile.
• Create Figma design systems with component libraries, design tokens, responsive patterns, templates, and documentation.
• Design high-fidelity interfaces, interaction states, prototypes, and responsive layouts.
• Partner with developers on implementation, design QA, and launch refinement.
• Improve website usability, accessibility, navigation, visual quality, and technical storytelling.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of experience in UI, web, or digital product design, including major website or digital-platform initiatives.
• Portfolio demonstrating strong visual design, interface design, responsive web design, and design-system thinking.
• Advanced Figma proficiency, including components, variants, auto layout, variables, prototyping, libraries, and developer handoff.
• Experience with WordPress, WP Engine, or other CMS-driven website environments.
• Practical knowledge of HTML, CSS, responsive frameworks, CMS constraints, browser behavior, and design QA.
• Knowledge of WCAG principles, semantic hierarchy, contrast, focus states, and inclusive interaction patterns.

Nice to have

• Experience in enterprise SaaS, defense, aerospace, robotics, autonomy, or other complex technology sectors.
• Familiarity with component-based architectures, design-to-code handoff, and systemized theming.
• Experience with web motion and interaction tools such as After Effects, Lottie, GSAP, Principle, ProtoPie, or Figma prototypes.
• Experience with data visualization, technical diagrams, product interfaces, or interactive storytelling.
• Experience with localized web experiences, analytics, experimentation, conversion-oriented design, or design operations.
