Company

hirify.global develops autonomous aircraft and propulsion capabilities.

What you will do

  • Design, fabricate, assemble, and maintain custom test fixtures, setups, and instrumentation for propulsion system validation.
  • Develop and execute test plans for experimental propulsion systems, prototype designs, first-article units, and components.
  • Define and document test procedures and work instructions for tests with little or no precedent.
  • Fabricate mechanical and electrical test hardware using composites, machined parts, 3D printing, adhesives, wiring harnesses, and aerospace-grade fasteners.
  • Conduct and monitor propulsion tests, including piston engine, propeller, and hot-fire engine testing.
  • Operate instrumentation and data acquisition systems, analyze test data, and collaborate with propulsion, avionics, mechanical, aerospace, structural, manufacturing, software, and electrical engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Experience designing or executing engineering test setups, fixtures, and test campaigns.
  • Ability to self-direct test planning and execution with minimal supervision.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware or avionics fabrication, including machining, 3D printing, adhesive bonding, or wiring harnesses.
  • Proficiency with precision tools, calibrated measurement equipment, power tools, thread specifications, and torque procedures.
  • Comfort working in shop and laboratory environments with exposure to noise, dust, and chemicals.
  • Ability to lift and move parts and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. and perform physical work for extended periods.

Nice to have

  • Experience in aerospace propulsion or engine development, preferably with two-stroke piston engines.
  • Experience with avionics systems, sensors, harness fabrication, instrumentation calibration, and sensor integration.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze test data to inform engineering design decisions.
  • Experience with command-line syntax or microcontroller programming, such as Arduino.
