Propulsion Test Intern (Summer 2027)

Location: San Francisco, United States. U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or refugee/asylee status is required due to U.S. Government space technology export regulations.

Salary: $29 per hour.

Builds advanced satellites for high orbits and provides secure, dedicated satellite networks to commercial, government, and military customers.

What you will do

• Design, build, test, and qualify tests and test equipment for propulsion systems.
• Perform component- and system-level design, analysis, and trade studies for test equipment.
• Develop and execute component- and system-level test plans.
• Work cross-functionally to meet stakeholder and industry requirements while considering cost and schedule.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams to complete testing and development tasks.

Requirements

• Working toward a degree in aerospace, mechanical, or another applicable engineering discipline.
• Passion for testing in a fast-paced environment and interest in hands-on design and development.
• Demonstrated ability to design, build, and test hardware from scratch.
• Ability to identify and fix equipment, process, and communication problems.
• U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or refugee/asylee status required.

Nice to have

• Experience building or testing liquid propulsion systems.
• Experience with Python.
• Familiarity with technical standards and test plans.
• Experience using MES or ERP software.
