Avionics Technician Specialist (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Build, modify, integrate, and troubleshoot engineering hardware, test fixtures, cables, harnesses, instrumentation, and laboratory setups.
• Execute test procedures, collect and analyze data, document results, and communicate anomalies to engineering teams.
• Operate and maintain oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, signal generators, data acquisition systems, and environmental test equipment.
• Develop test setups, instrumentation, fixtures, tooling, and methods for electrical, mechanical, environmental, and system-level testing.
• Support hardware bring-up, integration, qualification, failure investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Maintain configuration, calibration, inventory, safety, and engineering documentation while improving test efficiency and reliability.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree, technical degree, or equivalent training with 3+ years of relevant hands-on experience, or 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting electrical, electronic, mechanical, or electromechanical hardware.
• Experience operating engineering laboratory equipment, including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies, electronic loads, function generators, and data acquisition systems.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Ability to work onsite in Torrance, California.
• Access to export-controlled information requires eligibility under applicable U.S. export-control requirements; classified work may also require U.S. Government authorization or security clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, electronics, robotics, or other complex hardware development programs.
• Experience with high-voltage, high-power, RF, digital, analog, or mixed-signal systems.
• Experience with Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB, automated test equipment, data acquisition, instrumentation, or test automation.
• Experience with soldering, wire termination, crimping, cable fabrication, PCB rework, machining, 3D printing, CAD, or fixture design.
• Experience with laboratory safety programs, ESD controls, hazardous energy, and high-voltage systems.
