Focus on reviewing OEM technical data, managing system-level engineering risks, and analyzing ground, laboratory, and flight-test results for Army aviation programs.
Location: Huntsville, Alabama, United States; onsite role with up to 15% travel.

What you will do
- Lead technical management and engineering oversight for the design, development, integration, and production of aircraft turbine engines and auxiliary power units.
- Manage integration, verification, and validation of FADEC systems and software in line with cybersecurity and safety-critical standards.
- Oversee advanced engine exhaust and infrared signature systems to improve aircraft survivability.
- Plan and analyze propulsion system ground, laboratory, and flight testing under military test protocols.
- Direct engineering management of fuel control, lubrication, engine starting, diagnostics, and prognostics subsystems.
- Review OEM technical reports, specifications, qualification test plans, and engineering change proposals to support airworthiness releases.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline from an ABET-accredited institution.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in aviation propulsion, turbine engines, or aerospace systems engineering.
- Strong knowledge of gas turbine thermodynamics, FADEC architecture, engine/airframe integration, and military airworthiness qualification.
- Experience with systems engineering processes, including SRR, PDR, CDR, and technical risk management.
- Ability to lead technical meetings and present complex data to military leadership and OEM contractors.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of War security clearance are required.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience supporting Army aviation capability or aviation defense programs.
- Familiarity with MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-882, MIL-HDBK-516, and the Defense Acquisition University framework.
- Experience with propulsion cycle modeling, MATLAB, Simulink, NPSS, data analysis tools, or CAD systems.
