Process Development Engineer (IBD)

Location: San Jose, California, United States; travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.

Salary: $115,000–$145,000 annually, plus bonus opportunity.

What you will do

• Lead process and application development using ion beam deposition and etch technologies.
• Develop advanced thin-film processes based on current and future customer requirements.
• Design experiments, execute process trials, and analyze data.
• Develop and maintain best-known methods for process control, development, and continuous improvement.
• Act as a technical expert for customers and support technical partnerships with key accounts.
• Define process specifications and coordinate new equipment upgrades and hardware development with Engineering.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of related experience, Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience, or PhD in Physics, Materials Science, or a related field.
• Process development experience and expertise in vacuum thin-film technology.
• Experience with thin-film characterization, including four-point probe, stress measurements, ellipsometry, absorption/transmission spectroscopy, XRD/XRR, or depth profiling.
• Knowledge of semiconductor devices, module processes, and process integration in logic and/or memory fabrication.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, collaboration, and self-direction skills.
• Ability to work in San Jose, California, and travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.

• Experience with metal thin films.
