Engineering Technician (IBD) (Semiconductor Equipment)

Location: On-site in Waltham, Massachusetts, with work at the manufacturing partner’s Beverly, Massachusetts facility

Salary: $58,687–$74,336 per year, plus bonus opportunity

What you will do

• Set up, install, and perform preventive maintenance on advanced wafer-processing and vacuum-based equipment.
• Execute equipment testing, troubleshooting, recovery, design verification, and system validation activities.
• Use electrical, optical, mechanical, and vacuum test equipment to diagnose and resolve system performance issues.
• Develop, execute, document, and analyze experimental test plans for equipment and process validation.
• Partner with development engineers and cross-functional teams during system integration, NPI builds, design improvements, supplier issues, and manufacturing escalations.
• Support modification, fabrication, assembly, inventory management, and spare-parts management for electromechanical and vacuum subsystems.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of hands-on experience as an equipment technician in an engineering-related field.
• Experience in semiconductor engineering, manufacturing, NPI, or process development environments, including electromechanical, vacuum, and control systems.
• Experience with vacuum-based semiconductor equipment and wafer or substrate processing tools is strongly preferred.
• Associate degree or higher in mechanical, electrical, industrial engineering technology, or a related technical field is preferred; equivalent technical training or military experience may be considered.
• Ability to read and apply schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, technical drawings, and procedures, with strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Willingness to travel and work overtime or weekends when required by critical project milestones.
