Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technician/Aide

What you will do

• Create and assemble custom thermal and mechanical test fixtures, including liquid-cooling systems, plumbing, electrical wiring, and digital communication interfaces.
• Prepare power supply modules for testing by adding test leads, thermocouples, and other components.
• Set up electrical test equipment to measure voltage, current, power, and temperature.
• Capture and prepare thermal and electrical test data using semi-automated equipment and Microsoft Excel.
• Maintain test equipment records and track calibration dates.
• Work with multiple engineering groups to resolve product performance and test setup issues.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience.
• 4–7+ years of experience in an engineering aide or technician role.
• Hands-on experience fabricating lab-scale test fixtures with manual machine tools, including mill drills, band saws, tap and die sets, calipers, and gauges.
• Experience soldering PCB components and creating wiring and cabling assemblies.
• Knowledge of hardware, fasteners, fittings, liquid cooling, chillers, Peltier thermoelectric plates, and temperature and fluid measurement devices.
• Proficiency with electronic lab equipment, AC and DC circuits, schematics, engineering drawings, tolerances, and data acquisition units.

Nice to have

• Experience with LabVIEW, SolidWorks, or FLIR Thermal Studio.
• Experience with FLIR thermal cameras or oscilloscopes.
• Understanding of heat transfer concepts and thermal resistance.
