Harness Design Engineer Intern (Winter 2027)

What you will do

• Design flight and test harnessing for spacecraft systems.
• Create wiring diagrams, block diagrams, schematics, and layout drawings.
• Define interfaces between subsystems with cross-functional teams.
• Route spacecraft harnessing in 3D using CAD software.
• Select components based on voltage, power, frequency, and data-rate requirements.
• Collaborate with production to fabricate cables in-house.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in mechatronics, electrical engineering, or an equivalent technical field.
• Interest in designing and working with spacecraft systems and subsystems.
• Familiarity with power and data transmission concepts.
• U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or refugee/asylee status is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Zuken or other harness design software.
• Experience with MIL circular, D-Sub, and microD connectors and different wire types.
• Experience with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks.
