Operations Specialist, Level 1-4 (Natural Gas Pipelines)

Location: Onsite in Altamont, Utah; must live within a 30-minute response time from the reporting location.

What you will do

• Install, repair, service, and maintain natural gas pipelines, valves, pipe, generators, pumps, compressors, engines, and related equipment.
• Operate compressor engines, pumps, and other field equipment within defined operating parameters.
• Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, pigging, line patrols, crossing inspections, valve inspections, and governmental compliance activities.
• Diagnose mechanical issues, determine root causes of failures, and coordinate required repairs and equipment shutdowns.
• Monitor third-party construction and maintenance work, inspect completed work, and participate in project scopes, work plans, and budget documentation.
• Respond to call-outs and work overtime, including nights, weekends, and holidays, while maintaining safety and environmental standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong mechanical skills, hand-tool proficiency, and experience diagnosing mechanical issues.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, and other diagrams.
• Valid driver's license meeting company insurability requirements; ability to obtain and maintain required operator qualifications and certifications.
• Basic computer and math skills, strong communication, organization, teamwork, and documentation abilities.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, enter confined spaces, climb elevated platforms and ladders, and wear required PPE including full FRC.

• Gas compressor station or pipeline operations experience.
• Experience troubleshooting equipment and determining process failures.
• Maintenance tracking database experience.
• Safe handling experience with flammable gases, liquids, and high- or low-pressure systems.
