Quality Control Supervisor (Chemical Manufacturing)

Location: Los Angeles, California, United States. Onsite work in a chemical manufacturing laboratory is required, with support for urgent off-shift issues and applicable 24/5 or 24/7 operations.

Salary: $95,000–$120,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead daily QC laboratory operations, prioritize testing, assign technician resources, and communicate risks affecting production, material disposition, or batch release.
• Review QC cards, test results, and laboratory records; authorize releases within assigned authority and place materials or batches on hold when required.
• Perform hands-on laboratory testing and troubleshoot test methods, instruments, and questionable results.
• Lead, coach, schedule, train, qualify, and cross-train QC Technicians across applicable shifts.
• Manage quality documentation, deviations, NCRs, investigations, root cause analysis, CAPA, and continuous improvement activities.
• Reinforce EHS compliance, chemical handling, PPE, waste management, stop-work responsibility, and safe laboratory practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Science, or a related scientific or technical field.
• At least five years of quality control, laboratory, chemical manufacturing, or comparable technical manufacturing experience.
• Knowledge of laboratory testing, test methods, specifications, quality documentation, and SAP or a comparable ERP/quality system.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, exercise independent quality judgment, escalate concerns, and safely handle reactive, hazardous, and industrial chemicals.
• Unrestricted right to work for hirify.global in the United States is required.
• Ability to work in laboratory and chemical manufacturing environments, wear required PPE, and perform extended periods of standing, walking, reaching, and detailed laboratory work.

Nice to have

• Leadership, supervisory, coaching, or training experience in a laboratory or quality environment.
• Experience with chemical, adhesive, resin, hardener, composite, or related manufacturing.
• Experience with AS9100, ISO 9001, SPC/SQC, OOS, deviations, NCRs, CAPA, root cause analysis, laboratory trending, or troubleshooting.
