Buyer / Planner, NPI (Semiconductor)

Location: Chelmsford, MA, United States. Work arrangements may include a mix of in-office and remote work depending on the role and business needs.

Base salary: $63,244.34–$85,565.87 USD annually, plus eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Create and manage purchase orders for NPI development builds and customer commitments.
• Monitor material requirements, supplier commitments, shortages, delivery risks, and recovery plans.
• Drive material readiness for engineering builds, prototypes, pilot production, and customer shipments.
• Manage supplier communication, expedites, delivery performance, and recovery efforts.
• Provide material status, completion dates, and risk assessments to NPI, engineering, manufacturing, operations, and project teams.
• Maintain planning parameters, lead times, order policies, item master data, supplier information, and inventory levels in Oracle ERP/MRP or equivalent systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in purchasing, planning, supply chain, materials management, or related manufacturing disciplines.
• Experience supporting new product introduction, product development, or low-volume/high-mix manufacturing environments.
• Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems, inventory planning, purchase order management, and material control processes.
• Experience managing suppliers and improving delivery performance in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, bills of material, and technical specifications when needed.

Nice to have

• APICS/CPIM certification.
• Experience purchasing and planning precision machined components, sheet metal fabrications, castings, injection-molded parts, electrical and electromechanical assemblies, PCBAs, cables, motors, pumps, or custom assemblies.
