TL;DR
Engineer I, Quality (Aerospace): Supporting quality engineering for the XBAT aerospace and defense product as it moves from development toward production with an accent on product risk management, verification, root cause analysis, and process compliance. Focus on investigating prototype and manufacturing failures, managing nonconforming hardware, evaluating engineering changes, and building quality documentation for production readiness.

What you will do

  • Support Quality Engineering activities throughout the XBAT product development lifecycle.
  • Partner with Design, Systems, Manufacturing, Test, Supply Chain, and Program Management teams to identify product and process risks.
  • Participate in design, manufacturing readiness, test, and other development reviews from a quality perspective.
  • Investigate prototype, test, and manufacturing failures and lead or support root cause analysis and RCCA activities.
  • Manage nonconforming material and prototype hardware, including containment, investigation, disposition, and documentation.
  • Support verification strategies, First Article Inspection, engineering change reviews, audits, and quality documentation as XBAT transitions toward production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Quality Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 0–3 years of experience in engineering, quality, manufacturing, test, or a related field.
  • Ability to support risk management, verification and validation, configuration and change control, nonconformance management, and development process compliance.

Nice to have

  • Internship, co-op, or project experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, robotics, electronics, or other complex product development.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 or other aerospace and quality management systems.
  • Experience with root cause analysis, 8D, RCCA, CAPA, DMAIC, FMEA, risk management, or reliability engineering.
  • Experience with design reviews, test activities, configuration management, engineering change processes, GD&T, or engineering drawings.
