Senior Quality Assurance Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: 100% onsite in Chandler, Arizona, United States. Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week, with staggered eight-hour schedules supporting operations from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Occasional later hours, Saturday support, and travel of up to 5% may be required.

What you will do

• Own manufacturing quality for assigned production areas and improve first-pass yield with Operations, Engineering, and integrated product teams.
• Analyze production and quality data to identify trends, systemic risks, recurring defects, nonconformances, and corrective-action backlogs.
• Lead investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions through verified resolution.
• Develop and improve process validation, control plans, inspection instructions, quality records, and first article activities, including AS9102 requirements.
• Support aerospace and defense customer programs by communicating quality risks, performance, requirements, and corrective-action status.
• Coordinate manufacturing, supplier, procurement, planning, engineering, and customer quality issues while mentoring team members and influencing decisions without direct authority.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline; manufacturing engineering, electrical engineering, and chemistry backgrounds are especially relevant.
• At least five years of hands-on Quality Engineering experience; ten or more years is preferred.
• Working knowledge of AS9100 is required; aerospace and defense quality experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience with manufacturing process validation, control plans, inspection methods, quality records, corrective actions, and structured root cause methods such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone/Ishikawa, or Apollo.
• Working knowledge of GD&T is required. FMEA, process capability/Cpk, Lean, Six Sigma, ERP, or MES experience is beneficial.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a relevant technical discipline.
• AS9102 or First Article Inspection experience.
• Experience in other highly regulated, high-volume manufacturing environments.
• Lean or Six Sigma experience and direct customer interaction.
