Transportation Area Manager (Logistics)

What you will do

• Lead and develop warehouse associates and operations leads to achieve daily goals.
• Own sortation, dock management, and shipping department operations.
• Coordinate with HR, Safety, Customer Service, and operations leaders to drive results.
• Resolve operational and personnel issues affecting the functional area.
• Implement process improvements, workload-efficiency mechanisms, and workload planning.
• Investigate discrepancies and variances while maintaining quality and fulfillment standards.

Requirements

• Two to four years of experience with automated sortation systems, WMS, and/or dock management platforms in a high-volume facility.
• Previous leadership experience and the ability to manage carriers and drivers daily.
• Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience.
• Strong organizational, time-management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to use material-handling equipment such as forklifts, perform basic calculations and data entry, and transport up to 20 lbs.
• Ability to work in a distribution center with varying heights and temperatures, moderate noise, occasional non-standard hours, evenings, weekends, and overtime as required.

Nice to have

• Proficiency with Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office Suite.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
