District Transportation Manager (Logistics)

Location: Based out of Fairfield, Visalia, Fresno, Pittsburg, or Redwood City, California, United States; 75% travel required.

Salary: $130,330–$162,910 annually.

What you will do

• Manage transportation operations across a defined district, including private fleet and common-carrier solutions across multiple modes.
• Optimize private-fleet dispatch, route plans, driver utilization, asset replacement, and cost per mile.
• Develop lane-level sourcing strategies, negotiate truckload rates, manage carrier relationships, and improve on-time delivery.
• Plan near-, medium-, and long-term transportation capacity and maintain sufficient capacity for a 20% volume surge.
• Manage approximately $7 million in transportation budget responsibility, spot-rate decisions, annual operating plan delivery, and cost-saving initiatives.
• Collaborate with commercial, operations, procurement, transportation planning, carriers, and regional transportation managers.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; bachelor's degree or MBA strongly preferred.
• 3–5 years of logistics or supply-chain experience, including distribution, multimodal transportation, and carrier operations.
• Experience leading private fleets, managing budgets and P&L, and addressing legal, regulatory, and operational transportation issues.
• HAZMAT and tanker transportation experience strongly desired; knowledge of DOT rules and regulations required.
• In-depth SAP and SAP TM knowledge, with strong analytical, negotiation, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel 75% and work from one of the specified California reporting locations.
