TL;DR
Senior Engineer, Reliability (Aerospace): Developing and managing aircraft-system reliability requirements, budgets, analyses, and operational metrics with an accent on aerospace reliability, failure analysis, and mission availability. Focus on performing FMEA/FMECA, FTA, RBD, Weibull, and FRACAS analyses, identifying high-risk failure modes, and improving aircraft fault tolerance and reliability.

Location: On-site in Seattle, Washington; San Diego, California; or Dallas, Texas

hirify.global develops aircraft systems and aerospace platforms, with this role supporting the X-BAT Engineering division.

What you will do

  • Develop aircraft-level reliability requirements, objectives, plans, and reliability budgets.
  • Perform reliability predictions, allocations, trade studies, sensitivity analyses, and design assessments.
  • Conduct FMEA/FMECA, Fault Tree, Reliability Block Diagram, Weibull, and FRACAS analyses.
  • Analyze ground-test, flight-test, supplier, maintenance, and field-performance data to identify reliability trends.
  • Support system safety assessments, reliability demonstrations, growth testing, and technical reviews.
  • Communicate reliability risks, performance, budgets, and corrective actions to customers and engineering leadership while mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in reliability, systems, aerospace, mechanical, electrical engineering, or a related technical field.
  • At least 5 years of related experience and direct experience with aircraft development, integration, testing, sustainment, or operations.
  • Experience managing reliability budgets and applying FMEA/FMECA, FTA, RBD, Weibull analysis, reliability predictions, and FRACAS.
  • Familiarity with MTBF, MTBCF, failure rate, mission reliability, and availability metrics.
  • Experience with reliability analysis tools such as ReliaSoft, Windchill Quality Solutions, Isograph, or RAM Commander.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any security clearance required for the program.

Nice to have

  • Experience with military aircraft, unmanned aircraft, or defense aerospace platforms.
  • Familiarity with MIL-HDBK-217, NPRD, EPRD, RIAC 217Plus, or equivalent methods.
  • Experience integrating reliability with system safety, maintainability, logistics, and availability analyses.
  • Knowledge of Reliability-Centered Maintenance, condition-based maintenance, or Model-Based Systems Engineering.
  • Certified Reliability Engineer credentials or an active U.S. security clearance.
