Senior Design Assurance & Quality Engineer (Aerospace)

Salary: $144,000–$180,000 USD base pay annually

What you will do

• Execute system process and design assurance reviews for internal aircraft system development in compliance with ARP4754A.
• Perform software quality assurance activities for internal software development in compliance with DO-178C.
• Conduct supplier oversight and design assurance reviews for software and airborne electronic hardware development under DO-178C, DO-254, and other certification regulations.
• Improve system and software processes, with emphasis on ARP4754A and DO-178C compliance.
• Coordinate systems, software, and airborne electronic hardware compliance reviews with FAA DERs and certification authorities.
• Track and control issues identified during design assurance activities through resolution.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in system, software, and airborne electronic hardware design assurance for aerospace standards.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent field.
• Experience with full-lifecycle safety-critical systems, software, and airborne electronic hardware following ARP4754A/B, DO-178C, and DO-254.
• Experience working with multiple systems, software environments, and tools.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, with experience in demanding work environments.
• Experience with agile or lean methodologies.

Nice to have

• Experience with DO-330 tool qualification, DO-331 model-based development and verification, or ARP4761.
• Experience with system and software development for an aircraft OEM.
• Experience with FAA certification compliance reviews.
• Familiarity with Polarion, Collaborator, Git, Bitbucket, TeamCity, Jira, or Teamcenter.
