Staff Engineer, Cloud (AI)

What you will do

• Set technical direction across multiple Cloud domains and teams.
• Lead high-impact, cross-team technical initiatives from definition through delivery.
• Align architecture, sequencing, dependencies, and trade-offs with Leads, Product, Engineering Managers, and the Principal Engineer.
• Establish engineering standards for correctness, testing, security, observability, performance, and data integrity.
• Review designs and code, resolve cross-domain technical disagreements, and document decisions.
• Turn recurring incidents and cross-domain friction into durable systemic fixes while mentoring senior engineers and Leads.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience building and operating production systems in both Go and JavaScript, or equivalent experience.
• Experience setting technical direction across multiple systems or teams.
• Strong software-engineering fundamentals covering architecture, APIs, data, reliability, security, and operability.
• Evidence of building or substantially reshaping systems rather than only maintaining or migrating them.
• Ability to resolve technical disagreements, explain trade-offs, debug and review production systems, and work with a high degree of autonomy.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders and proven mentoring experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud platforms, distributed systems, public APIs, billing or payments, identity and access management, or developer-facing products.
• Experience with event-driven systems, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, or production workflow systems.
• Previous Staff Engineer or equivalent organization-wide technical experience.
• Experience scaling an early implementation into a dependable product.
