Staff Software Engineer (Cloud)

Location: 100% remote within the United States

Salary: $93,000–$107,000 annually

What you will do

• Provide deep technical leadership across multiple engineering teams.
• Lead the design and execution of complex, cross-cutting engineering initiatives.
• Shape architecture and translate ambiguous product and business requirements into well-engineered solutions.
• Collaborate with product, design, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders.
• Conduct code and design reviews, mentor senior and junior engineers, and raise engineering standards.
• Drive reliable production delivery and contribute to long-term technical roadmaps.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven experience leading complex, cross-team engineering initiatives.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud platforms, or large-scale data systems.
• Strong programming skills in at least one major backend language, with excellent system design and architecture abilities.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; new H-1B visa petitions cannot be sponsored.

Nice to have

• Experience driving multi-year platform modernization initiatives.
• Public technical contributions such as talks, papers, or open-source software.
• Hands-on experience operating large-scale production systems.
• Experience building engineering organizations and platforms.
• Familiarity with FinOps and cost-aware engineering practices.
