Manufacturing Engineer - Program Manager (Automotive)

Location: Rochester, New York, United States; onsite with full-time reporting to Rochester

Salary: $80,700–$109,400 base compensation annually, plus bonus potential.

What you will do

• Support ongoing products and new product launches as part of the Program Management and Product Launch team.
• Lead and track product changes throughout the product lifecycle and deliver launch milestones according to program timing.
• Drive launch and program-level quality while coordinating activities under APQP, MQRR, and GM launch processes.
• Own product change review boards and related change leader responsibilities using GMCH Teamcenter.
• Ensure current and launching products comply with the GM Global Manufacturing System.
• Develop and improve manufacturing processes, documentation, efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong practical understanding of machining and assembly processes.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting ability.
• Ability to work autonomously with occasional guidance and exercise independent judgment in a centralized manufacturing plant.
• Full-time onsite presence in Rochester is required.
• GM immigration sponsorship is not available; candidates must not require sponsorship or immigration-related work authorization support now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Experience leading capital equipment build projects with OEM partners while meeting schedule and budget targets.
• Experience interpreting blueprints and machine schematics.
• Ability to evaluate diverse issues using innovative methods and propose alternative approaches.
