Product Engineer Intern (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Toronto, Canada; work from the Toronto office three days per week

What you will do

• Collect, analyze, and document user and business requirements for complex software and data visualization solutions.
• Design and implement data, process, and network models for large-scale organizational data processing and visualization.
• Develop cross-platform web or mobile applications using modern frameworks, including Vue and Node.
• Build graph-based data structures, multi-level caching systems, and Enterprise Resource Planning features for position, personnel, and job architecture planning.
• Test, troubleshoot, monitor, and optimize high-performance systems handling data for enterprises with hundreds of thousands of employees.
• Collaborate with engineering, data, and product teams on secure, scalable, and resilient solutions.

Requirements

• Full-time availability of 37.5–40 hours per week is required.
• Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree or higher program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience with data visualization for large or complex datasets and performance optimization of large-scale or big data systems.
• Experience with modern web development, including Vue, React, Node, Postgres, Python, and component-based UI systems.
• Proficiency in software design, architecture, testing, debugging, distributed systems, cloud environments, and backend integrations.
• Demonstrated use of AI in software development, plus knowledge of graph data structures, caching layers, and context-aware prompt engineering.

Nice to have

• Experience with data visualization performance techniques such as virtualization or occlusion culling.
• Familiarity with Tailwind CSS or similar design systems.
• Knowledge of SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 compliant system architecture.
