Forward Deployed Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote from Poland or the United States; listed locations are Warsaw, Poland and New York City

Salary: $140,000–$180,000 USD annual salary, plus bonus and equity. Compensation outside the U.S. is aligned with local market conditions and cost of living.

What you will do

• Work directly with customers to discover operational workflows, shadow operators, identify evidence sources, and understand risks and exceptions.
• Build production-ready product slices across frontend, backend, data, permissions, integrations, testing, and deployment.
• Validate realistic workflows, inspect logs, document evidence and uncertainty, and support truthful customer demos.
• Explain technical tradeoffs, risks, and next steps to non-technical customers.
• Identify reusable patterns and turn customer-specific learning into product primitives, configuration, evaluations, playbooks, and roadmap changes.
• Own ambiguous work end to end, including discovery, implementation, demonstration, rollout, and follow-up.

Requirements

• Experience personally shipping production software and explaining implementation decisions, verification, and user impact.
• Ability to work effectively in ambiguous customer environments and translate operator needs into software.
• Experience with TypeScript, React, Next.js, and shadcn/Tailwind.
• Experience with Python, Pydantic, Django/Django Ninja or FastAPI, background workers, typed APIs, Postgres, migrations, tenant scoping, and auditability.
• Experience building or integrating AI systems with typed outputs, evaluations, and provider selection across Gemini, OpenAI, or Bedrock.
• Strong communication, evidence discipline, product judgment, and ability to debug cloud deployments, configuration, logs, and customer-facing behavior.

Nice to have

• AWS experience with IAM, GitHub OIDC, Lambda, API Gateway, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch, and least privilege.
• Infrastructure as code experience.
• Experience in regulated industries such as energy, compliance, government permitting, healthcare, or finance.
• Previous forward-deployed, solutions, or founding engineer experience.
