Associate Scientist III, Parenteral Drug Product Development

Location: Cambridge, MA, United States; onsite laboratory role

Base salary: $77,000–$100,250 per year

What you will do

• Plan and execute laboratory experiments for formulation development, product characterization, process development, and evaluation of new technologies.
• Prepare formulations, conduct laboratory studies, analyze experimental data, and communicate findings to project teams.
• Manage assigned development activities under the guidance of senior scientists.
• Author development protocols, technical reports, and documentation supporting CMC submissions.
• Maintain laboratory records according to Good Documentation Practices and support GLP-compliant activities.
• Collaborate with Analytical Development, Drug Substance Development, Manufacturing Sciences, Quality, Device Engineering, and Regulatory teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field with 0–2 years of relevant industry experience, or a master’s degree with 0+ years of experience.
• Experience in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology laboratory environment.
• Familiarity with pharmaceutical formulation development, preferably sterile parenteral drug products.
• Experience performing laboratory experiments, analyzing data, and documenting results using Good Documentation Practices.
• Working knowledge of laboratory instrumentation and analytical techniques for drug product characterization.
• Strong organization, written and verbal communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with sterile injectable drug product development.
• Experience with oligonucleotide, peptide, biologic, antibody, or conjugated therapeutics.
• Familiarity with chromatography, particle analysis, spectroscopy, and physicochemical characterization.
• Experience with Design of Experiments, JMP, Minitab, or other statistical analysis software.
• Familiarity with sterile laboratory practices and aseptic techniques.
