Senior Scientist - Automation and HTS – Target Discovery & Biology (TD&B)

What you will do

• Develop automation pipelines and strategies for high-throughput functional genomic screens in advanced in vitro models.
• Transfer manual 96-well and 384-well protocols to automated platforms.
• Adapt iPSC differentiation and long-term cell culture protocols for automated instruments and screen-ready cell production.
• Optimize high-content imaging assays and acquisition parameters, including Cell Painting workflows.
• Identify and implement robotics, automation, microscopy, and image-analysis technologies to increase discovery-platform throughput.
• Collaborate across therapeutic areas and research sites to advance target and biological discovery.

Requirements

• Doctorate degree, or a master’s degree with 3 years of functional genomic screening experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 5 years of functional genomic screening experience.
• Experience with high-throughput screening and functional genomic screening; arrayed CRISPR perturbation screening and high-content imaging experience are preferred.
• Strong experience operating, optimizing, and troubleshooting automation instrumentation.
• Experience with cell culture; iPSC experience and complex in vitro cellular models are preferred.
• Familiarity with automation scheduling software and HTS metrics such as Z’, S/B, and MSMR.
• Excellent organization and communication skills for cross-site collaboration in a matrixed research environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with HighRes Prime, HighRes PreciseDrop II, GNF Washer-Dispenser II, BlueCat BlueWasher, Beckman Coulter Labcyte Echo, CellTrio, or CellXpress.ai.
• Doctorate degree in cell biology, chemical engineering, bioengineering, biomedical engineering, or a related discipline.
