Controller - Federal (Cybersecurity)

Location: Hybrid, with on-site work at the Chantilly, Virginia office 3–4 times per week

What you will do

• Direct accounting, finance, and related functions for the federal business unit.
• Build and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and financial reporting practices.
• Oversee month-end close, reconciliations, fluctuation analysis, and resolution of accounting issues.
• Prepare financial statements, analyze operating results against budgets, and report financial performance to management.
• Manage accounts payable, working capital, funding balances, external auditors, and financial analysis for contract negotiations and investment decisions.
• Lead the Federal Finance and Accounting team and represent finance in systems implementations and upgrades.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, MBA, or practical equivalent.
• 10 or more years of accounting experience, including experience leading and managing people and direct reports.
• Knowledge of GAAP, SEC rules and regulations, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
• 5–10 years of progressive experience managing or maintaining the Deltek Costpoint ERP system.
• Hands-on knowledge of DCAA compliance standards, Cost Accounting Standards, and the Federal Acquisition Regulation.
• Experience with financial statements, general ledger functions, month-end and year-end close, accounting software administration, and cross-functional leadership.
