Commercial Financial Analyst

Location: Dallas, TX, United States; preferred candidates may be based in Dallas, TX or Nashville, TN.

What you will do

• Serve as the primary accounting and finance resource for assigned business units.
• Manage billing, invoicing, accounts receivable follow-up, collections, bills, expenses, and financial transactions.
• Perform account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and support month-end and year-end close activities.
• Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial reports, explain variances and trends, and identify financial risks and opportunities.
• Advise business unit leaders and internal stakeholders on accounting, financial, and operational decisions.
• Use NetSuite and other financial systems to maintain accurate records and improve accounting workflows and processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in professional services or a project-based environment.
• Hands-on experience with billing, invoicing, accounts receivable, reconciliations, month-end close, and general accounting.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and financial data analysis.
• Experience with an ERP system; NetSuite experience is preferred, along with strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong communication, organization, attention to detail, judgment, and problem-solving skills.

• Experience supporting multiple business units, service lines, or operating groups.
• Experience in consulting, advisory, valuation, healthcare services, or another professional services organization.
• Experience with project or professional services billing, accounts receivable collections, and revenue-related accounting.
• Experience identifying and implementing accounting or operational process improvements.
