Controller (Manufacturing)

Location: Escondido, California, United States. Hybrid schedule with office work Monday through Wednesday and remote work Thursday and Friday.

Salary: $133,000–$157,000 yearly

What you will do

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules.
• Oversee billing, collections, accounts receivable aging, DSO performance, and batch posting and approval processes.
• Support financial statement preparation, HFM reporting, budget and forecast analysis, and variance reporting.
• Maintain balance sheet integrity, accounting policies, reporting documentation, and internal control processes.
• Lead SOX documentation, testing support, audit and tax schedules, and monthly sales tax review through Avalara.
• Drive accounting process improvements, automation, ERP enhancements, and collaboration across Finance, Operations, Sales, Customer Service, and Shared Services.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience and 2+ years of supervisory, team lead, close ownership, or accounting process leadership experience.
• Strong general ledger, month-end close, reconciliations, accruals, financial statement, balance sheet analysis, GAAP, and financial reporting experience.
• Experience with ERP systems, internal controls, SOX compliance, audit support, and accounting policies; Epicor ERP experience is preferred.
• Advanced Excel and strong analytical, organizational, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in the Escondido office three days per week; travel of up to 10% is required.

Nice to have

• CPA or CPA candidate status.
• Public company accounting, manufacturing, recurring revenue, SaaS, or connected products experience.
• Experience with Epicor ERP, Avalara, HFM, Power BI, finance transformation, automation, or ERP enhancement initiatives.
• Prior people management or direct supervisory experience.
