B2 MFTS Licensed Engineer (Aviation)

Location: RAF Shawbury, Shropshire, United Kingdom; occasional work at other sites may be required. The role follows an on-site early or late Monday–Friday shift pattern.

What you will do

• Deliver serviceable aircraft to support the MFTS daily flying programme.
• Complete maintenance inspections, repairs, and certification activities in line with aviation regulations and company procedures.
• Maintain electrical and avionics systems to ensure safe aircraft operation.
• Supervise maintenance fitters and certify their completed work.
• Support hangar operations, including aircraft movement and general housekeeping.

Requirements

• Valid UK CAA Part 66 B2 Licence.
• Working knowledge of UK CAA Part 145, Part CAMO, and UK ANO requirements.
• Thorough knowledge of aircraft electrical and avionics systems.
• Experience in an aviation engineering environment, with strong communication, organisational, leadership, and collaborative problem-solving skills.
• Current legal right to work in the United Kingdom is required.
• Ability to obtain SC security clearance, generally requiring five years of UK residence, and successful completion of a mandatory BPSS check. Export compliance requirements must also be met.

Nice to have

• hirify.global EC135 T3H or hirify.global BK117 D2 experience.
• Avionics technician experience with at least six Part 66 modules completed and more than three years documented experience may qualify for the Fitter-to-LAE pathway.
