Senior Staff Software Engineer, Workforce Solutions (AI)

Location: New York, New York, United States

Base pay: $220,500–$298,000 per year, with potential bonus, equity rewards, and benefits.

What you will do

• Architect scalable, secure, maintainable, and interoperable analytical and customer-centric platforms for workforce solutions.
• Contribute hands-on across the software lifecycle while also defining architecture, technical strategy, and cross-team alignment.
• Resolve complex, ambiguous technical problems across multiple teams and domains, ensuring end-to-end technology and customer experience quality.
• Define technical standards, patterns, reference architectures, and measures for the impact, reliability, and safety of AI in production.
• Design evaluation, observability, and guardrail frameworks for responsible AI integrations, measuring effects on performance, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
• Coach senior engineers, influence product and business leadership, and identify high-leverage opportunities for AI across the platform.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience building web, software, or data-intensive applications, with technical leadership at Senior Staff level or above.
• Expert proficiency in an object-oriented language such as Java/J2EE or C#, with strong distributed-systems design judgment.
• Experience architecting end-to-end analytical and customer-centric ecosystems at scale.
• Hands-on experience designing and shipping AI/ML capabilities in production, ideally including LLM-based or agentic systems, retrieval-augmented generation, prompt and context engineering, agent memory, evaluation, and guardrails.
• Ability to influence technical direction across teams and communicate complex trade-offs to senior product and business leaders.
• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
