Staff Software Engineer, Sr. Consultant (Agentic AI, Cloud, LLM, API)

Location: US - Foster City, CA; hybrid position with at least 3 days in the office. Travel required 5–10% of the time.

Salary: $169,100–$270,800 USD per year, with potential bonus and equity eligibility.

What you will do

• Design and architect AI-powered solutions for engineering productivity and customer-facing products.
• Lead technical initiatives using agentic AI, LLMs, machine learning, and generative AI to automate workflows and improve software quality.
• Build scalable platforms and services integrating AI capabilities into commercial payment and money movement systems.
• Develop robust software for B2B, B2C, P2P, and government-to-consumer payment flows.
• Collaborate with product owners and cross-functional teams to refine requirements, create technical documentation, and deliver features end to end.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and define adoption standards and technical decisions.

Requirements

• 8+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, 5+ years with an advanced degree, 2+ years with a PhD, or 11+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with agentic AI, LLMs, AI agent frameworks, generative AI applications, or machine learning.
• Experience applying AI to engineering challenges or customer-facing product features.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and modern architectures.
• Knowledge of API design, microservices, distributed systems, and scalable architecture.
• Expertise in at least one general-purpose development language such as Java, C#, or C++.

Nice to have

• Understanding of commercial payments, money movement, B2B payables, or payment processing.
• Experience with AI-powered development tools such as Claude Code or GitHub Copilot.
• Experience with Angular, React, Kubernetes, or Docker.
